For Chef David Parker, the kitchen has always been a place of connection. His culinary journey began in the most authentic way possible: standing alongside his mother as a child, learning that the best meals are built on love and tradition. That early foundation shapes his philosophy today—he believes in serving food that is simple, unpretentious, and meticulously executed. To David, a great dish shouldn’t be overly complicated; it should be comforting, intentional, and truly touch the soul.
David began his professional career at age 20 at the acclaimed Chandler’s in Petoskey. Seeking to broaden his palate and technique, his career later took him through the vibrant food scenes of North Carolina before bringing him back home to Michigan. A pivotal milestone in his journey was honing his craft at Iron Chef Michael Symon’s flagship Detroit restaurant, Roast, where he mastered the art of bold flavors and high-caliber hospitality.
When he isn’t leading the kitchen, David channels his creativity into his other great passion: music. An avid DJ and electronic dance music enthusiast, he finds a natural parallel between mixing a great set and balancing flavors on a plate—both require rhythm, timing, and a unique creative spark. On his well-deserved days off, David loves nothing more than slowing things down at home, relaxing with his wife, Merissa, and their two beloved cats, Little Girl and Mom.
